Miss Hope opened Bella Ballet in 2013 at age 24 with $5,000 of her savings. It was her dream to create a dance school where children were able to learn traditional dance repertoire with a sound dance education all while learning key values to inspire confidence and spark passions. She wanted a space that empowered dancers with leadership skills, addressing bullying, building positive body image, providing empowerment, and promoting other positive values like respect, kindness, and love for all.

In her third year in business, a pivotal and challenging year for many business owners, Miss Hope was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Rather than let that slow her down, she used it as fuel to teach her students everyday about the importance of a positive mindset and overcoming adversity. Through willpower, prayers, and a healthy diet, she has not let the diagnosis slow her down one bit.

Since its inception, Bella Ballet has grown into much more than a kids dance school, and has added various styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre, a program for children with special needs, and contemporary dance.

Bella Ballet is now a a staple in the Kentlands community with a team of fifteen, holding 52 classes a week, teaching more than 500 students weekly, continuing to build confident ballerinas one twirl at a time.
